Lovely Party Things

Hi! I’m Jess Gordon, a Christian, stay-at-home-mom to a sweet boy and adorable girl, wife to my best friend/love of my life!

This site was born because my all-time most popular blog post from my family blog, Lovely, Lovely Things, is about a Robot Party for my son’s 4th birthday. I’m thrilled that so many others share my love of parties and celebrating, so I wanted to create a place just for sharing my party ideas!

I have been a blogger since August 5th, 2006 – the day before my first child was born . That blog, now called Lovely, Lovely Things, has been a place for me to share God’s blessings in our life. The title of the blog was inspired by my favorite Bible verse:

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

I think this Bible verse applies to all areas of life, from the most serious to the most light-hearted! At my house, we love parties – even the smallest occasion is cause for celebration! When I really stop to think about it, I believe the reason we enjoy parties so much is because they are rooted in LOVE. We celebrate to show appreciation, support and respect for our friends and loved ones… OK, well, maybe the kids have another top reason to love parties: SWEETS!  Regardless of your reason to celebrate, I hope this place will bring you lots of inspiring ideas and tips for your parties!
